The number that matters is measured from sample RECEIPT, not from the day you posted it. Carrier delivery confirmation is not intake: several laboratories state explicitly that the clock starts when they record the sample, which on a cross-border shipment can be a week after you handed it over.

The tests that cannot be hurried
Compendial sterility to USP <71> requires a fourteen-day incubation. A laboratory quoting fifteen business days on a release panel is not slow; it is quoting the method. Any figure materially shorter for a true USP <71> result is quoting something else.
This is exactly why rapid alternatives exist. ATP bioluminescence and PCR-based screens detect contamination in a fraction of the time and are offered by two laboratories here, at the cost of not being the compendial method. If you need the compendial result for a release, the fourteen days are not optional.
What a stated window leaves out
Transit. A Canadian vial to a European laboratory is several days each way before anything is measured, plus customs, which is unpredictable by design. The domestic Canadian laboratories remove that entirely, and the shipping column above says which is which.
Intake. Delivery is not receipt. Several laboratories are explicit that the turnaround clock starts when they log the sample, and at least one warns that a carrier marking a parcel delivered means nothing until intake is confirmed.
Add-ons. Endotoxin, heavy metals and microbiology usually run from the same submission but extend the window, and a certificate is normally issued once rather than in instalments.
Rush service is available, and is not always the answer
Several laboratories publish a rush option. One Canadian laboratory returns a full certificate in two business days for a CA$199 supplement, and another tests priority samples the next day.
Before paying for it, check what is actually slow. If the sample is crossing a border, rush processing compresses the part of the timeline that was never the bottleneck.
