Payment
Instructions
Please read this before you send an Interac e-Transfer. Three details decide whether your order ships today or waits: where you send it, how much you send, and the reference code you put in the message field.
The short version
- Place the order first. Your recipient address, your exact Canadian dollar total and your reference code are issued with the order. We do not publish the address here, and a transfer sent without an order behind it has to be returned.
- Send the exact amount. We match deposits to the cent. A rounded figure stops the parcel.
- Put your reference code in the message field. It looks like
VP-7K4M2Q. It is the only thing that tells us whose payment this is.
Interac e-Transfer
Canada onlyPaid from your own online banking. No card details change hands and no third party sits between you and us. Interac requires a Canadian bank account, so this option appears only on orders shipping within Canada.
- 1
Place your order and choose Interac e-Transfer
Select Interac e-Transfer as the payment method at checkout and submit. Nothing is charged and no money moves yet. Your order is reserved, and you land on a payment page carrying your recipient address, your exact total in Canadian dollars and your reference code. The same three details are emailed to you, so you can send the transfer whenever suits.
- 2
Open your online banking and start a new e-Transfer
Any Canadian bank or credit union works: RBC, TD, Scotiabank, BMO, CIBC, Tangerine, Desjardins, Simplii, EQ Bank and the rest all carry Interac e-Transfer under “Send Money” or “Transfers”.
- 3
Send to the address on your order page
Copy the recipient email address from your payment page or your instructions email. Do not type it from memory. If your bank asks for a recipient name, your order page shows the name on the receiving account, and it needs to match, because a mismatch is what makes a bank flag or reverse a transfer.
- 4
Enter the exact amount, in Canadian dollars
Your total is shown in CAD, converted from USD at the rate captured when you placed the order. That pinned figure is what we check your deposit against, so the rate cannot drift against you while you are mid-transfer. Send it to the cent. Do not round up or down.
- 5
Put your reference code in the message field
Your bank calls this field Message, Memo, Comment or Notes. Paste in your reference code, for example
VP-7K4M2Q. That code is the only link between a deposit landing in the bank and your order. Without it we cannot tell whose payment arrived, and your order waits. The code is all we need in that field, so there is no reason to describe what you ordered, and we would rather you did not. - 6
If your bank asks for a security question
Our receiving account uses Autodeposit, so most transfers are accepted without one. If your bank asks anyway, use the exact question and answer shown on your order page. If none is shown there, email us before you send.
- 7
We confirm it, then your parcel ships
Transfers are confirmed by hand, usually within a few hours during business hours. Your payment page updates on its own once the money is matched, so you can leave it open. You then get a payment receipt, and tracking follows by email when the label is booked.
What delays an order
- No reference code in the message field.
- A rounded amount, or the USD figure instead of the Canadian dollar one.
- A recipient address retyped by hand with a character wrong.
- A security question and answer we were never given, which leaves the transfer sitting unaccepted.
We hold e-Transfer orders for 48 hours by default, and your exact deadline is printed on your order page. After that the hold is released and the stock goes back to the catalog. If you have already sent the transfer, email us and we will reinstate the order rather than make you place it again.
Other ways to pay
Both settle automatically, so there is no reference code to copy and nothing to confirm by hand.
Card
Visa, Mastercard and Amex through Stripe. Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay are offered if your device supports them. Shipping is quoted from your address before you are redirected, and your card details never touch our servers.
Cryptocurrency
10% offBTC, ETH, SOL, LTC, XRP, DOGE and USDT, handled by our payment partner. The discount is applied at checkout. Your order confirms once the network confirms the transaction.
After your payment clears
- Orders are verified once payment is confirmed.
- Picking and dispatch take 1 to 2 business days. Orders placed before 2:00 PM PT on a business day are typically processed the same day.
- Everything ships from British Columbia, so Canadian orders never cross a border and there is no customs step. See the shipping policy for rates and transit times.
- A tracking number is emailed to you when the parcel is booked.
If something goes wrong
I forgot to put the reference code in the message field.+
Email [email protected] with your order number and the name the transfer was sent from. A deposit with no code is not lost, it just cannot be matched automatically, so it sits until someone matches it by hand. Telling us early is the difference between a few hours and a few days.
I sent the wrong amount.+
We check every deposit against the exact Canadian dollar total on your order, to the cent. Anything short or over is parked rather than shipped, and we email you to sort it out. Nothing is lost either way, but it does stop your parcel, so send the amount exactly as shown.
My bank asked for a security question and answer.+
Our receiving account uses Autodeposit, so most transfers are accepted without one. If your bank still asks, your order page shows the exact question and answer to use. If no question and answer is shown there, email us before you send rather than inventing one, because a security answer we do not have is a transfer we cannot accept.
Can I pay by e-Transfer from outside Canada?+
No. Interac e-Transfer only exists inside Canadian retail banking, so the option is offered on Canadian orders only. Everywhere else, use card or cryptocurrency at checkout.
How long do you hold my order before it is released?+
The exact deadline is printed on your order page and in your instructions email. If it passes without a deposit, the hold is released so the stock goes back to everyone else. That is not a penalty and there is nothing to cancel. You can place a new order at current prices, or if you have already sent the transfer, email us with your reference code and we will reinstate it.
Why is my total in Canadian dollars when the site prices in USD?+
Interac settles in CAD only. Your total is converted at the exchange rate captured the moment you place the order, and that pinned figure is what we check your deposit against. The rate cannot move against you while you are in your banking app.
How long until my order ships after I send the transfer?+
Transfers are confirmed by hand, usually within a few hours during business hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm PT. Your parcel is picked and dispatched within 1 to 2 business days of the payment clearing, and tracking is emailed to you when the label is booked.
Is there a discount for paying a particular way?+
Cryptocurrency orders receive 10% off at checkout. Interac e-Transfer and card orders are priced the same.
Still need help?
If you have sent a transfer and something looks wrong, or you never received your payment details after ordering, email us with your reference code and we will match it up. We reply within one business day, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm PT.
