Prodigy Labs
Accredited, fully priced, and the only one running USP <71> sterility in house.
Before you send a sample
- No public certificate lookup was found, so a Prodigy certificate cannot be verified by a third party the way a Janoshik or Freedom Diagnostics one can.
- Testing is one of several businesses here, alongside a laboratory incubator and a software platform. That is not a criticism of the analysis, but it is a different proposition from a laboratory that only measures.
- The published street address is San Diego without a specific building.
A San Diego laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 that publishes a complete tiered price list for peptide work, from a $195 retention-time identity and purity check up to a $1,195 injectable release panel. It is the only entry in this directory that is both accredited by a named body and publishes what it charges, and the only one that states it runs the full 14-day compendial sterility test in house rather than subcontracting it. Prodigy also rents San Diego bench space and sells laboratory software, so testing is one line of a broader business.
Services and pricing
US$195 to US$1,195 depending on tier, published in full before you contact them.
Basic: retention-time identity and purity
US$195 per sampleTurnaround: 5–7 business days
RP-HPLC purity with identity established by retention time against a reference, plus impurity profiling. The cheapest accredited option in this directory.
Tier 1: confirmed identity, purity and content
US$295 per sampleTurnaround: 5–7 business days
Adds co-injection confirmed identity and measured content against the label claim, which is the difference between knowing the peak is in the right place and knowing how much peptide the vial holds.
Tier 2: injectable screening
US$750 per sampleTurnaround: 7–10 business days
The Tier 1 chemistry plus the safety work an injectable preparation needs: bacterial endotoxin to USP <85>, heavy metals by ICP-MS and bioburden to USP <61>.
Tier 3: injectable release
US$1,195 per sampleTurnaround: About 15 business days
The full release panel, including true compendial sterility to USP <71>. The 15-day window is the 14-day incubation the method requires, not a queue.
Mass-spectrometric identity confirmation
US$350 per declared active, plus US$150 for each additional active in a blendAn add-on to any tier. Priced per active rather than per vial, which is the honest shape for a blend.
Sterility, true USP <71>
US$300Bought on its own. Run in house, which is unusual: most laboratories offering compendial sterility subcontract it.
Methods
- RP-HPLC for purity, with retention-time identity at the entry tier
- Co-injection against a reference standard for confirmed identity
- Mass spectrometry for identity confirmation, priced per declared active
- Bacterial endotoxin to USP <85>, and bioburden to USP <61>
- Heavy metals by ICP-MS
- Compendial sterility to USP <71>, performed in house over the full 14 days
Accreditation and quality
- ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited through PJLA, accreditation #96417, certificate #L26-715
Best for
Anyone who needs an accredited result and wants to know the price first, and the only entry here to reach for if you need a genuine USP <71> sterility release rather than a rapid screen.
Shipping from Canada: International. A Canadian sample crosses the border into California.
Prodigy Labs questions
Why does the release panel take fifteen days?
Compendial sterility to USP <71> is a 14-day incubation. That is the method, not a backlog, which is why the rapid PCR and ATP alternatives elsewhere in this directory exist at all.
What is the difference between the $195 and $295 tiers?
The cheaper tier establishes identity by retention time. The dearer one confirms it by co-injection and adds measured content against the label claim, so it answers how much peptide is in the vial rather than only what the vial appears to contain.
