ISO 17025 accredited peptide testing
ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for the competence of testing laboratories. Accreditation to it means a recognised body has assessed a laboratory against a published scope of methods, not that the laboratory has read the standard and agrees with it.
That distinction is doing a lot of work in this market. "ISO 17025 aligned" and "ISO 17025 accreditation pending" both appear on laboratory websites in this directory, and neither is accreditation. Seeing past those two phrasings is the entire reason this page exists.

Accreditation is scope-specific, and the scope is the point
A laboratory is not accredited in general. It is accredited for named methods on named matrices, listed on a scope document the accrediting body publishes. A laboratory can hold genuine ISO 17025 accreditation and run your particular peptide method entirely outside it.
So the useful question is never "are you accredited". It is "is the method you will run on my sample on your published scope". Vanguard links its A2LA certificate and scope so you can read it before committing, which is the strongest position available here.
What the phrases that are not accreditation actually mean
"ISO 17025 aligned" means the laboratory has built its quality system to resemble the standard. That may be true and thorough, and nobody outside the laboratory has checked it.
"Accreditation pending" means an application exists. It may be granted, it may not, and the phrase survives on websites long after either outcome.
Both appear in this directory and both are recorded as what they are on the relevant laboratory's page. Neither sets the accredited flag, which is why this list has three entries rather than six.
When accreditation matters, and when it does not
It matters when the result has to survive scrutiny by someone who was not in the room: a regulator, an auditor, a customer's compliance function, or a dispute. An accredited result comes with an assessed method and a traceable quality system behind it.
It matters less for the ordinary question of whether the vial you bought contains what it should. For that, a public results archive and a method you can read are often worth more in practice than a badge, which is why the most-used laboratory in this market holds no accreditation at all and is still the reference point.

Is ISO 17025 accreditation necessary for peptide testing?
Not for establishing what is in a vial for your own purposes. It becomes necessary when the result has to be defended to a third party, because it is the only claim in this market that a recognised body has independently assessed.
Is 'ISO 17025 aligned' the same as accredited?
No. Aligned means the laboratory built its own quality system to resemble the standard, with nobody outside verifying that. Accredited means an assessment body examined it against a published scope. Ask for the scope document; an accredited laboratory can produce one immediately.
