GIP (Glucose-Dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide)
Definition
An incretin hormone that, like GLP-1, stimulates insulin secretion. Tirzepatide is a dual GLP-1/GIP agonist, and retatrutide is a triple GLP-1/GIP/glucagon agonist.
